Happy New Year! Our online sessions will commence on Tuesday 19th January 7:30pm-8:30pm. This term we will be learning:

Mr Blue Sky

Hold Back the River

We will also be singing some favourites from the back-catalogue!

December 22nd @ 7:30pm - Sing4Joy Online Christmas Gathering. A Christmas sing-along at home! You are welcome to wear your Christmas apparel, bring a glass of something festive and nibble on a mince pie or two! This will be our final meeting this year and a chance for a friendly catch up! Wishing you all a Happy Christmas!

December is usually the time when we revisit carols and seasonal songs during rehearsals. Our sessions will continue online for the rest of 2020. Our December sessions will consist of learning one new carol and revising a carol from previous years each week. On 22nd December, our final session of the year will take place and this will be our online Christmas gathering where we shall sing along to a selection of carols at home!

Due to another lockdown, our November meeting in person is cancelled. Weekly online sessions will continue on Zoom - 7:30pm each Tuesday. Fingers crossed we can arrange a Christmas sing-song in December.

We have had a lovely first few face to face sessions since lockdown.

Due to the uncertainty of the covid situation, attendance levels and covering costs, the plan forward is to continue with online sessions each week via ZOOM. Limited face to face sessions will continue in a covid-secure environment and these will take place ONCE a month. The dates for these will be as follows:

DECEMBER 15th or 22nd (tbc) - Christmas sing-song

To cover running costs - we need a minimum of 10 people. An e-survey will be sent out for each of the above to get an idea of numbers prior to booking the venue.

Please add the above dates to your diary and look forward to singing together! Thank you for your understanding!

Our carefully risk assessed rehearsals/classes in a Covid-19 Secure environment will continue as planned for ‘educational purposes’ until further notice!

Venues following COVID-19 Secure guidelines CAN host more than 6 people in total, but no one should visit in a group of greater than 6. When you visit one of these places, you should:

*follow the limits on the number of other people you should meet with as a group
*avoid social interaction with anyone outside the group you are with, even if you see other people you know
*provide your contact details to the organiser so that you can be contacted if needed by the NHS Test and Trace programme

The Musicians Union have also clarified the situation with regard to performances and choir rehearsals. It seems that the 6 person rule does not apply as long as risk assessment and social distancing and other covid secure measures are in place.

Our guidelines in a nutshell:
Wear face covering
Sign register
Sanitize hands regularly
Be seated ready to begin the music class
Exit following the one-way system

There will be no interval for refreshments/socialising so please bring a drink!

Seats will be placed 2m apart with a maximum capacity of up to 14 and the hall will be ventilated.

Full risk assessment and guidelines can be found on our website and are available to view prior to participating.

Following this weeks news, I hope this helps provide some clarity in these difficult and changing times! Keep calm and make music! 🙂

Our annual concert was due to take place on Sunday 31st May as part of the Hampton Bishop Open Gardens event in aid of St Michael's Hospice. This has had to be cancelled but fundraising is continuing and the Open Gardens will take play by way of online virtual tour. We hope to have the opportunity to perform later in the year. Our big annual concert will however be postponed until next year.
